On February 16, 2024 in our College was held a meeting with veterans of the War in Afghanistan.
Guests of the meeting:
• Tanabaev Altynbek – Chairman of the Afghan war Veterans Council (Medeu district of Almaty);
• Myrzakulov Mukhan – Deputy Chairman of the Afghan war Veterans Council (Medeu district of Almaty).
Meeting objectives:
– to expand students’ knowledge about the war in Afghanistan in 1979-1989;
– formation of an idea of military duty and loyalty to the Motherland, honor, courage and self-sacrifice.
Fulfilling their international duty in Afghanistan, the Armed Forces of the USSR lost 14,427 people, and more than 53,000 people were injured or shell shocked during the war. The losses of the Kazakh SSR were 947 people, 1,770 people were injured.
