On February 08, 2024, a poetry evening dedicated to Mukagali Makatayev’s birthday was held in our College.
M. Makataev is an outstanding representative of Kazakh literature, like Abai and M. Auezov. Fame and recognition came to him after his death. Makataev lived a short but bright life, leaving his descendants an extraordinary poetry full of national flavor.
Mukagali is also known as a talented translator. In his works, he loved his Motherland and the kazakh language, he made the world literary heritage available to his folks in the kazakh language: Shakespeare’s sonnets; Dante’s “Divine Comedy”; poetry by A. Blok, N. Nekrasov, etc.
